Graphene has been extensively studied due to its various extraordinary properties. We investigate how the coupling of Au nanoparticle (NP) gratings to 50 nm thick Au film may affect the Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) of the Au NPs both in the absence and presence of trilayer graphene. The presence of graphene induced a blue shift in the LSP mode exhibited by the two samples at low wavelength (507nm and 520 nm). The sharpness and nature of this mode encouraged us to do sensitivity measurements, were we recorded a FOM of 2.1 for the Au film sample and 2.8 for the graphene_coated Au film.
