Abstract
Are digital humanities interdisciplinary? Present, past and future. The ongoing "Digital Humanities" movement has very little interactions with research in informatics. Therefore we start our enquiry on interdisciplinarity with success stories between archaeology and cognitive sciences in the 1970's, as well as in the late 1950's between theology, philology and electromechanical data processing. Following this path, and based on our experience, we propose to refound digital humanities and interdisciplinarity between humanities and informatics on three pillars: immersion, instrumentation, and epistemological discussions. Finally, we explore how informatics, rethought in the light of hermeneutics, could be a "hub" for interdisciplinary debates among humanities.
