Abstract
This paper investigated experimentally the sound absorption characteristics of porous aluminum. Porous aluminum and porous structure are prepared and controlled by negative pressure infiltration aluminum into porous media. Compared with the sound absorption coefficient versus frequency curve of typical sound absorption structure, sound absorption mechanism is summarized. Porous aluminum owns the frequency characteristics of resonant cavity structure in low frequency and the characteristics of traditional porous sound absorption material in high frequency. With the porosity increasing and pore-diameter decreasing, porous aluminum’s sound absorption ability increase. The relationship of porous structure parameters, including porosity and pore-diameter, and sound absorption property are studied.
